Our Story
Motherhood changes us. It asks us to give more than we knew we had. And sometimes, in the giving, we lose the thread back to ourselves.
Esme + Arlo began with that feeling. Our founder is a physician and a mother of two daughters who found herself, somewhere in the middle of a demanding career and a full life, deeply burnt out. The thing that brought her back? The unexpected joy of design.
Frustrated by the dresses she found for herself and her girls - nothing felt quite right - she began researching clothing construction, block-printing traditions, and the craft of artisan-made garments. She never looked back.
What grew from that search became a brand built around a single idea: that a mother and daughter can dress together without dressing the same. Not matching outfits, but shared palettes. Complementary prints. Details that quietly echo across two generations.
Each piece is designed with that intention and made by skilled artisans, block-printed by hand on organic cotton in limited runs. Inspired by vintage silhouettes, world travel, and the kind of clothing that gets passed down rather than thrown away.
